The layers you wear underneath your snow jacket or snow pants serve a couple of important functions such as insulation and moisture management. The primary purpose of layers is to provide insulation, which helps to keep your body warm in cold and snowy conditions. By layering your clothing, you trap air between each layer, which acts as insulation and helps to retain your body heat. In addition, snow sports can be physically demanding, which means you are likely to sweat while skiing or snowboarding. The layers you wear underneath your snow jacket and pants are designed to wick away sweat and moisture from your skin, keeping you dry and comfortable. When layering for snow sports, it is important to use a base layer against your skin, a mid-layer if it’s cold and an outer layer to protect you from the wind, rain, or snow. The base layer should be made of moisture-wicking material, such as synthetic fabrics like polyester or merino wool, and should fit snugly against your skin. The mid-layer provides insulation and can be made of materials like fleece or down. The outer layer should be waterproof and windproof and should provide protection from the elements. By layering appropriately, you can stay warm, dry, and comfortable.

Designed in collaboration with one of the greatest snowboarders of our generation, the Xavier De Le Rue Pro Series Sock is a sock beFitting a 3 x Freeride World Tour champion and 4 x World Boardercross Champion. The Definitive Fit System™ delivers a precise form Fit, with light cushioning, ventilation panels for airflow on the bootpack and an anti-wrinkling, elasticated instep that doesn’t bunch underfoot. Crafted from our Signature Merino Blend, the sock ensures exceptional breathability, temperature regulation and comfort by melding the luxuriously soft on-skin properties of Rayon from Bamboo and the unrivalled odour resistance of merino wool.
