Snowboarding originated in the United States in the 1960s and 1970s. The first snowboard was created by Sherman Poppen in 1965, who fastened two skis together and added a rope to create a rudimentary snowboard. In 1977, Jake Burton Carpenter founded Burton Snowboards, which helped to popularize the sport and develop modern snowboarding equipment. By the 1980s, snowboarding had become a popular alternative to skiing, and was officially recognized as an Olympic sport in 1998. Snowboarding initially faced resistance from ski resorts, which viewed snowboarders as reckless and potentially dangerous to other skiers. However, as the sport grew in popularity, most resorts began to welcome snowboarders and create designated terrain parks and halfpipes for them to ride. Today, snowboarding is a popular winter sport enjoyed by millions of people around the world. It has evolved into many different styles and disciplines, including freestyle, halfpipe, big air, and backcountry. We stock a huge range of snowboards, boots, bindings, and accessories to accommodate snowboarders of varying abilities and riding styles. Description

Used for a two week period overseas. In great condition overall.

Developed in conjunction with freeride boss Kimmy Fasani, the Burton Family Tree Day Trader Snowboard feels at home pointing it out of a chute or ripping groomers thanks to its directional tapered shape and snappy FSC™ Certified core. A flat section underfoot that extends into rocker in the tip means the Day Trader is stable at speed but kicks out of the snow when it gets deep. Ideal for ripping the entire mountain after a fresh blanket of snow has just come down, the Burton Family Tree Day Trader Snowboard will take you bell to bell in style.

• Directional Flat Top – The flat baseline starting at the tail extends just outside of your front binding. This flat section provides ample stability and control due to a greater surface area contacting the snow. The dominant flat area meets a rockered nose giving you the playfulness and float you need to surf deep days.

• Directional Flex – This flex features increased pop in the tail and a resilient nose that allows riders to easily maintain control through all terrain and conditions.

• Happy Medium – Ideal for riders who never want to be limited or held back. It provides you with turning precision and cush landings but isn't soft enough to make a fast ride feel squirrely.

• Sintered WFO – Burton infused specially formulated wax deep into the pores of this extra-absorbent, high-density sintered material. The result is an ultra-durable base that stays fast and furious all season in any conditions.

• The Channel™ – Stronger, faster, easier, and more adjustable - The Channel™ gives you ultimate control of your stance and your board in a design compatible with all major binding companies (not just Burton’s).
