K2 is an American company founded in 1962 by brothers Bill and Don Kirschner on Vashon Island near Seattle in the United States. K2 is known for pioneering fibreglass ski technology, which made skis significantly lighter and more lively than their wood and metal rivals. Starting off in a garage, K2 believed they could build skis that would hold their own against every other ski company, even at a time when Europe owned the ski world.
Since day one, K2 has been leading the way with out-of-the box thinking and innovative designs. K2 has been making top performance skis ever since, for gold medal racers, hot-doggers, freestylers, backcountry explorers, rowdy big mountain senders, and everyone in between.
